The Sussex Royal Tour Of Australia, Fiji, Tonga, & New Zealand: Day Fourteen
The Duchess of Sussex enjoyed more sartorial success in relaxed, casual pieces on the two-week mark of her first Royal tour. Monday in New Zealand she began the day wearing Outland Denim's 'Harriet' jeans with a comfy black sweater from Jac + Jack, a Club Monaco trench, and Stuart Weitzman's fabulous 'Veruka' boots. It was an outfit that any sophisticated woman could wear to brunch in the fall, and I loved it.
Monday evening Their Royal Highnesses attended a creative arts reception, but I was feeling this look a whole lot less. Yes, her Maggie Maryland tuxedo dress fit well, and I have previously crowed that white worn with her pregnancy glow hasn't let Chocolate Duchess down yet. But this dress is unremarkable, this long tour has made me tired of her giving us such boring looks, and with an old-school nurses hat and big white pumps this could be a naughty nurse Halloween costume. Remember her dazzling black and white Oscar de la Renta gown, or her fabulous striped Martin Grant shirtdress? I want more of THAT chicness and much, much less of this ordinary-ness. And just when I was hoping we'd seen the last of that messy bun, too.
