The Sussex Royal Tour Of Australia, Fiji, Tonga, & New Zealand: Day Ten
The Duchess of Sussex wore THREE new dresses on Day 10 of her first Royal Tour, which began in Fiji and ended in the tiny island Kingdom of Tonga. In the morning Their Royal Highnesses attended one last event in Fiji. Chocolate Duchess wore Jason Wu's forest green crepe sheath dress with her striking gold jewelry providing an attractive contrast.
Like everything she wears, this Jason Wu is already sold out, but I am not convinced of its merits. The dress simply created too many lumps and bumps and added too much bulk to her figure for me to care for it. I don't get what's going on when Chocolate Duchess wears Jason Wu; Wu dressed former First Lady Michelle Obama on the regular and his designs were always very flattering on her. The opposite seems to happening when he dresses the Duchess of Sussex.
The Sussex's left Fiji and when their plane touched down in Tonga, Her Royal Highness emerged in a stunning red embroidered dress by Self Portrait. It fit like a glove and was complemented by the same navy blue Manolo Blahnik pumps and bespoke Dior clutch she'd donned that morning. Just as I was rejoicing at this vision in scarlet I saw that enormous price tag hanging from her hem. It didn't totally ruin the look - she was amazing in red - but somebody on that glam squad better get their act together.
For an evening gala with the King and Queen of Tonga, Her Royal Highness turned back to white, wearing Theia's pristine Cap-Sleeve Beaded Silk Satin Column Gown with her trusty Aquazzura 'Denevue' pumps and Givenchy clutch. I think some of her best moments on this tour have been when she relies on the grace of pure white and her pregnancy glow. It hasn't let her down yet.
